VistaVision Film Clip
from "The Ten Commandments"
This is a scan of a clip of dailies contact printed from the original
8-perf horizontal VistaVision negative. It is badly faded Eastmancolor
and has been color corrected as well as can be. The man pictured is
holding a slate to identify the shot.
Vistavision negatives were sometimes used to make horizontal running
prints which would look just like this except for the addition of a
soundtrack. More often the image was reduced and printed as a standard
vertically oriented "flat widescreen" print which would be exceptionally
sharp owing to the double sized original negative.
