People like to read lists, especially those which are numbered or rank-ordered ("Top 10 Best Sellers," "5 Best Buys," "100 Proven Ways to Make Money," "7 Secrets of Success").

Most people are list-makers. It's a useful memory helper. However, advertisers usually make lists not only to inform, but also to persuade, using lists including their products favorably.

Displays present the images of the various styles, shapes, colors, kinds, available in consumer products such as cars, clothes, furniture, foods, toys, and collectors items.

Displays are very common in magazines and newspaper ads, mail order catalogs,TV shopping channels, infomercials, and online catalogs. Many people spend hours browsing through such catalogs to do comparison shopping, or just to see what's new. Variety is the spice of life!
