Quantity

Quantity refers to those words and images which emphasize a large number, amount, or variety -- in size, space, time, styles.

The emphasis is on plenty, abundance ("more for your money"), often leading to a very common idea that "bigger is better."

Often, when a large variety is offered, the key verbs will be "select" or "choose" or "pick" -- as if the crucial decision to buy had already been made, and now the only issue was the right choice.

Product-centered ads make claims and promises to stress the good qualities of the product: explicitly said in words, or implicitly suggested using words and images
